K2 Self-Drilling Screw 6.8x140mm with Mounted Sealing Washer

At 140 mm this is one of the longest fixings in the K2 range, and the length is the whole point. It reaches through batten and counter-batten and still lands in the rafter below, so the fixing is in structure rather than in boarding.

It is self-drilling, with the sealing washer already mounted – one part, one operation, and no separate washer to drop off a roof.

When the length matters

On a re-roofed or heavily battened roof the distance from the surface to solid timber can be considerably more than the hook base allows for with a standard screw. A short fixing in that situation grips battens rather than rafter, which is exactly the fixing that pulls out under uplift.

Where the build-up is unknown, probe it before ordering. The right screw length is a function of the roof construction, not of the mounting system.
