Important
Please note that this inverter does not include a data logger, CT, meter or export power manager. The meter "SOL-METER-3PH-CT3" is needed for export power control of one inverter, for more than one inverter use the EPM3-5G-PLUS. The meter requires a data logging stick but EPM3-5G-PLUS has a built in data logger. These items are sold separately.Where the bigger hardware starts
At 12 kW the S5 GR3P changes. Each tracker doubles to 32 A with two string inputs, and cooling moves to fans. This is the size for bigger homes and small commercial roofs.
Four strings on two trackers
Each MPPT accepts two parallel strings, 32 A in total and 40 A short-circuit. Strings on the same tracker should match in panel count and orientation. The tracking window is 160–1,000 V with 1,100 V as the limit and start-up at 180 V. Thirty-six 500 W panels as four strings of nine give the 18 kW recommendation.
Connection approval
17.3 A rated per phase is over the 16 A G98 limit, so the DNO approves first. G99 and G100 certificates for the S5 GR3P range are in the Documents tab.
