Important
Please note that this inverter does not include a data logger, CT, meter or export power manager. The meter "SOL-METER-3PH-CT3" is needed for export power control of one inverter, for more than one inverter use the EPM3-5G-PLUS. The meter requires a data logging stick but EPM3-5G-PLUS has a built in data logger. These items are sold separately.The largest G98 model in the range
10 kW is as big as the S5 GR3P goes while staying under G98. The next size up, 12 kW, needs a G99 application and moves to different hardware.
Why 10 kW is the cut-off
This model's rated grid current is 14.4 A per phase at 400 V and its maximum output current is 15.9 A, both inside that limit. It can be installed and notified afterwards. Other generation on the same supply counts towards the limit too. All three certificate types, G98, G99 and G100, are filed under Documents.
Strings and trackers
There are two MPPTs, one string each, at 16 A with a 20 A short-circuit limit. They work from 160 V to 1,000 V, generation starts at 180 V and the input limit is 1,100 V. To reach the 15 kW recommendation, thirty 500 W panels as two strings of fifteen would need their cold-weather voltage checked against 1,100 V. Two strings of fourteen (14 kW) leave more margin.
