Specs that matter
A 3 kW inverter for homes with panels on two roof faces. It takes 1.5 times its rating in PV, split across two independent trackers.
How the two trackers split the array
Each MPPT takes one string at up to 14 A (22 A short-circuit) and tracks between 50 V and 450 V. The whole unit starts at 60 V. A south-east face and a south-west face can differ in panel count and still each run at their own best point. Ten 450 W panels, six on one side and four on the other, reach the 4.5 kW recommendation.
