Product details

The SigenStor battery module is the storage half of Sigenergy's SigenStor system, which packs a solar inverter, battery PCS, EV DC charger, battery modules and the energy manager into one stack rather than hanging five separate boxes on a wall. Each module holds 6.02 kWh of lithium iron phosphate, and you choose how many go in the stack when you order.

It suits a household that wants storage sized to its own consumption and the option to add more later, without replacing anything already installed. Because the enclosure is IP66 rated it can live outside, which matters when there is no garage or utility space to give up.

The module in figures

6.02 kWhPer module
100%Depth of discharge
3,000 WContinuous discharge
IP66Outdoor rated

Depth of discharge is quoted at 100%, so the nominal and usable figures are the same – 6.02 kWh per module rather than the 90–95% most lithium iron phosphate packs allow. Continuous discharge is 3,000 W per module, and the pack operates at 600 V, which is the high-voltage architecture SigenStor is built around.

Choosing your stack size

Every option on this page is the same module, repeated. One gives 6.02 kWh and 3 kW of continuous output; six gives roughly 36 kWh and 18 kW, because the discharge figure scales with the stack, not just the energy.

  • One or two modules – overnight running for a typical home, and enough output for an induction hob or a heat pump running alongside normal loads
  • Three or four modules – a house on a time-of-use tariff charging overnight and covering the whole of the next day, or a larger array with surplus to bank
  • Five or six modules – properties off a weak grid connection, large all-electric homes, or anywhere the daily consumption clears 30 kWh

Size the stack against your daily consumption in kWh rather than your array size. A meter reading across a winter week is a better guide than a summer one, because that is when the battery is working hardest and cycling furthest.

Living outdoors

IP66, and rated from −20 °C to +55 °C

The IP66 rating covers dust ingress completely and powerful water jets from any direction, so a north wall or the side of a garage is fair game. The operating range runs from −20 °C to +55 °C. Cold still costs you capacity in use even where the rating allows it, so a sheltered position outperforms an exposed one over a winter.

Each module measures 767 mm wide, 270 mm high and 265 mm deep, and weighs 62 kg. That weight is per module and they stack vertically, so a six-module tower is 372 kg before the inverter and PCS are counted – the mounting surface and floor need to carry it.

What else the system needs

  • The SigenStor inverter and PCS – these modules are part of that system, not a standalone battery for a third-party hybrid inverter
  • Installation by a qualified electrician, and DNO notification under G98 or G99 depending on the inverter rating
  • Monitoring through the mySigen app, with the LED status panel on the unit itself

Questions about the SigenStor battery

How much of the 6.02 kWh can I actually use?

All of it, on the quoted figures. Sigenergy rates the module at 100% depth of discharge, so unlike packs quoted at 90% or 95% there is no reserve held back in the specification.

Can I start with one module and add more later?

That is the point of a stackable design, and it is the usual way to buy. Keep to the same module and talk to your installer about the stack height the mounting and the PCS allow before you commit to a first purchase.

Does the price per kWh improve on the bigger stacks?

No. The options on this page are priced as straight multiples of the single module, so a six-module stack costs six times one module. You are buying capacity, not a bulk discount.

Is it the same as the 9.04 kWh SigenStor module?

No – that is the larger module in the same family, listed separately as the SigenStor 9.04 kWh stackable battery. Pick one module size and build the stack from it.

What chemistry and voltage is it?

Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) at 600 V. LiFePO4 is the chemistry chosen for home storage for its cycle life and thermal stability rather than for packing the most energy into the smallest box.
