K2 Dome Porter Ballast Tray for Dome 6 Flat Roof Systems
Product details
On a flat roof nothing is screwed down, so the array is held by weight. The Dome Porter is the aluminium tray that carries that weight: a 2195 × 40 × 40 mm channel that takes ballast slabs of whatever size the roof and the loading calculation call for.
K2 rate a pair of mounted Dome Porters at up to 108 kg of ballast between them. It is part of the K2 Dome 6 system.
Why a tray rather than loose slabs
Ballast laid straight onto the membrane concentrates load wherever the slab happens to sit and moves over time. The tray spreads it along the system and keeps it where the calculation assumed it would be, which is the part that actually matters when the wind loading is checked.
It also takes slabs of different sizes, so the ballast can be sourced locally rather than shipped with the kit.
Before you order
The supplier data for this part is inconsistent on module length – the listing title and the description give different ranges. The tray dimensions and the 108 kg ballast limit are not in dispute, but confirm the module length this Dome Porter is rated for against K2's own datasheet before you order a roof's worth.
How much ballast a flat roof array needs depends on the building height, the exposure, the parapet and the wind zone, and the roof has to be able to carry it. Both the ballast figure and the roof capacity are checked before anything is ordered.

Questions on the Dome Porter
K2 rate up to 108 kg divided across two mounted Dome Porters. The figure your roof needs comes from the wind loading calculation.
No. The tray takes slabs of different sizes, so they are usually sourced locally rather than shipped.
That is a structural question for the building, not for the mounting system. It is checked before the array is designed, not after.
It is over 2 m long, so it ships on a pallet to a kerbside delivery rather than by parcel carrier.
